In the Hawaiian language, 'Moku' has several different meanings including 'broken,' 'pieces' and 'island.' This definition suggests that 'broken' things can still hold value, beauty and importance.
When I find interesting fragments of broken shell, I always wonder where the other pieces are and how long they've been separated. When I collect and admire these small treasures, I can't help but think about PEOPLE...how we all begin as a part of something else. We move, we marry, we separate, we become our own 'island,' from which other pieces may eventually break away. Our edges, our insides, our unique shape tell our story. Beautiful is not always whole or perfect...beautiful can also be "broken."
These FINISHED TO FIT bracelets consist of 6-12 colorful, surf tumbled shell and sea glass fragments which are drilled through the center and stacked front to back. Shell and sea glass pieces are approximately 0.5 inches across and vary in width. These surf tumbled treasures are stacked together on hand twisted double rope made with waxed nylon cord. Shells and sea glass move slightly along the cord and are repositionable.
One puka and a small sliding bead or pearl create the adjustable closure.
These bracelets are finished to fit, which means you will need to input your preferred bracelet size (not your wrist size) before you are able to check out.
HOW DO YOU DETERMINE YOUR BRACELET SIZE?
Measure the smallest part of your wrist. Add 0.25-0.5 inches depending on your desired fit. If you like a snug fit, add 0.25 inch. If you prefer a looser fit, add 0.5 inch (or more! it's up to you). Bracelets are measured by inside circumfrence. Size is not determined by the end to end measurement.
