This one of a kind Golden Hapa Necklace is a wildly unique collection of golden vintage pukas collected over a lifetime of beach coming. At the center of over 3 dozen pukas is a perfect and incredibly saturated Golden South Sea Pearl. The combination of shell and pearl in this necklace is completely stunning.
The 38 surf polished golden pukas are strung, small to large and back again, on hand twisted 4 ply rope (made from flat waxed polyester thread) in a light shade of wheat.
The secure adjustable closure is created using a cone top that has been drilled vertically. Each cord end is finished with 3 miniature pukas. The details and of this necklace are sweetly feminine as well as durable and functional.
While the pukas are the star of this piece, the exposed rope cord adds another beautiful and interesting texture and also gives the necklace its name...Hapa translates to 'half' in Hawaiian and refers to my signature half rope, half shell design.
