There are several sea glass pieces each season that make me gasp at first sight. I save those special nuggets for a necklace such as this one.
This piece of teal sea glass is vibrant, thick, and incredibly worn down. It comes from my favorite "seacret" glass beach, where trash was dumped 100-200 years ago. This vintage glass has a unique look - you can tell that it has been tumbling in the ocean for centuries. It is thick, beaten and worn and it glows with intense color.
This gorgeous chunk is suspended on a 17 inch, hand twisted medium brown rope cord. The drop of the glass creates an over all length of 18 inches. The easy to use and secure toggle closure is made from one small pearl and a puka shell. Slide the pearl up and down to open and close the toggle loop.
This is a perfect way to wear a special piece of Hawaii every day of the year. Dress this necklace up, dress it down, take it to the beach - it is both beachy and sophisticated, elegant and organic.
To you. From me.
Love,
The Sea
